The first traces of settlement in Wyszogród come the 7th century.

The first mention of Wyszogród dates back to 1065.
1113
In 1113 our warrior prince Bolesław Krzywousty tore Wyszogród Pomeranian hands.
XIII century
At the beginning of the 13th century the partially walled castle in Wyszogród was rebuilt by Conrad I of Masovia.
1241
At the beginning of 1241, Bolesław I of Masovia placed in Wyszogród Daniel of Galicia with his family, who was fleeing the Tartar invasion.
December 1242
In December 1242, Casimir I of Kujawy received Wyszogród the hands of Świętopełek II of Gdańsk.
Spring 1270
In the spring of 1270, Ziemomysł of Inowrocław gave the castle at Wyszogród to Warcisław II Gdański, exiled by Mściwoj II. The Wyszogród residence was to serve them as a base to regain lost possessions.
9 May 1271
On May 9, 1271 in Wyszogród Warcisław II Gdański unexpectedly died.
1285
In 1285, Wyszogród, which belonged to Bolesław Siemowitowicz, was ravaged by the troops of Vladimir of Volhynia.

29 March 1329
On 29 March 1329, as a result of paying a fief homage by Wacław Płocki to John of Luxemburg, Wyszogród became part of the Kingdom of Bohemia.
12 May 1330
On 12 May 1330, during the Polish-Teutonic war, Wyszogród was captured by the monastic army which slaughtered 200 defenders who were still alive. Then the town was burnt down.
17 May 1337
On May 17, 1337 Waclaw Płocki died in Wyszogród.
XIV century
In the 14th century the brick castle in Wyszogród was erected on the initiative of Casimir the Great.
21 October 1382
On 21 October 1382 Wyszogród received Władysław Opolczyk a permission to locate the town under Chełmno Law.
1398
In 1398 Wyszogród was granted town rights.
XVII century
In the 17th century the castle in Wyszogród was burnt down by Swedish troops.
1798
In 1798 the castle in Wyszogród was demolished by order of Prussian authorities.
